Overview

Peptides represent one of the fastest-growing segments in the biopharmaceutical market. Being able to manufacture peptides with consistent high quality is an important priority for manufacturers of this drug class. To address this priority, USP established an Expert Panel in 2013 and later the Expert Committee on Therapeutic Peptides for public standards setting, and organized annual workshops on therapeutic peptides to provide the unique platform for updates and discussions. As the global manufacturing landscape continues to transform, public standards for therapeutic peptides will play a growing role in ensuring safe, quality medicines of these drugs.

Based on continued needs and strong stakeholder feedback, we are pleased to organize the 5th USP Workshop on Therapeutic Peptides, to be held November 5-6, 2018 at the USP Meetings Center in Rockville, MD. We will continue the successful programs including GMP manufacturing, control strategies, impurities, analytical, formulation, delivery, regulatory considerations, and develop new programs on emerging topics that are of interest and impact to the therapeutic peptides community.
