Bacteria and other microbes becoming resistant to treatment by antibiotics and other lifesaving drugs is a serious and growing public health threat. Antimicrobial resistance is a result, in part, of the prevalence of substandard and falsified medicines.

USP Quality Institute research is evaluating the link between poor-quality medicines and antimicrobial resistance and helping identify solutions to this pressing global health problem.
