International Conference of Drug Regulatory Authorities (ICDRA)
The 19th International Conference of Drug Regulatory Authorities (ICDRA) will take place October 14-18 in New Delhi, India. Hosted by the World Health Organization (WHO) and India’s Central Drugs Standard Control Organization (CDSCO) and Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, this year’s theme is “Smart regulation: Delivering quality assured medical products for all.” The conference brings together hundreds of regulators from WHO member states, government officials, manufacturers, academics, research institutions, and non-profit organizations to discuss strategies for strengthening regulatory systems, including improving quality assurance, safety monitoring, regional harmonization, and other important functions.

The importance of excipients will be shortly explained, as will the standards and solution USP offers for excipients. The role of excipients in nitrosamine formation will be touched on as well. Challenges in Impurity Testing including Nitrosamines – A USP Perspective
This webinar will start with a quick introduction and some definitions about impurities. The ICH Guidelines will be talked about, as will be other guidelines derived from them. The USP approach to impurities is then discussed, mentioning some specific challenges like DEG/EG in excipients and nitrosamines testing. The webinar will conclude by showing examples of how the product line PAI (Pharmaceutical Analytical) can complement the work with USP RS (Reference Standards) from impurities.
