The Reproductive Health Supplies Coalition (RHSC) is hosting its 20th general membership meeting from Monday, October 16 to Friday, October 20 in Accra, Ghana. With more than 570 members, RHSC works to increase access to affordable, quality-assured reproductive health medical supplies in low- and middle-income countries.

This session will focus on strategies to strengthen the supply of maternal health and sexual and reproductive health (SRH) products in low- and middle-income countries, including by optimizing registration and improving regulatory efficiencies. Panelists will discuss medicine supply chain challenges, particularly in sub-Saharan Africa, and discuss opportunities to improve access to maternal and SRH products.

Part II: Opportunities for regional manufacturing in sub-Saharan Africa

This plenary will explore pathways towards greater regional manufacturing of reproductive health products across sub-Saharan Africa to mitigate future supply chain disruptions and build more resilient and sustainable systems. Speakers will discuss manufacturing capacity and demand for contraceptives, maternal health medicines, and menstrual health products, and highlight next steps to help expand manufacturing.
