This course covers chapter revisions that published in the USP-NF at the end of 2022 and went into effect November 2023.
Course Description:
This course aims to improve your knowledge in the implementation of USP General Chapter <795> Pharmaceutical Compounding—Nonsterile Preparations.
The course describes the scope of USP <795>, outlines the responsibilities of compounders, defines the criteria for component selection and describes the facility requirements for nonsterile compounding. In addition, the course reviews the dispensing and quality assurance control requirements for nonsterile compounding described
in the standard.
Upon completion of this course, you will be able to:
- Explain the scope of USP <795> including who it applies to, the basic aspects of nonsterile compounding, and the roles and responsibilities of designated persons.
- Identify USP <795> requirements for personnel qualification including training, evaluation, and requalification.
- Describe USP <795> standards that apply to compounding spaces, equipment, and components used in nonsterile compounding.
- Examine the quality assurance and quality control program requirements to achieve consistently high-quality compounded nonsterile preparations (CNSPs)
- Explain how to handle complaints and report adverse events.
- Determine the proper cleaning and sanitizing processes to ensure a clean, orderly, and sanitary environment for preparing quality CNSPs.
- Use USP <795> requirements for establishing Beyond-Use Dates for various types of CNSPs.
- State the requirements for master formulation records and compounding records to be used for compounding the CNSPs.

This knowledge-based course has been approved by NABP and the NABP Foundation® for 3.75 hours of continuing pharmacy education credit for both pharmacists and pharmacy technicians. Participants must
attend the session its entirety, submit the completion code online, and pass
the posttest with a score of 70% or higher within 60 days in order to obtain
CPE credit for this activity.

fully vaccinated, as defined by the CDC, adhere to CDC guidelines on social
distancing, and state, local and USP mask requirements. We will continue to
monitor the COVID-19 pandemic as the course date approaches, and there is a
possibility that the in-person Classroom offering will be cancelled. If
this occurs, we will offer the option for a full refund or we can transfer your
registration to the virtual option. Registration Cancellation/Refund Policy: A USP Education course may be cancelled due to lack of enrollment, inclement weather or other unavoidable factors. In the event of a course cancellation for such reason, USP will provide a full refund to all registered participants. We will do our best to provide at least a two (2) week notice for classroom course cancellations.
