Joseph P. Remington, Ph.M.

Remington was an active participant and supporter of the International Pharmaceutical Congress, and even served as president of the 7th Congress in Chicago in 1893. He was an advocate for limiting the scope of the proposed international pharmacopoeia to potent medicines, and he supported early efforts to establish an international bureau of pharmacopeial-related information as well as an international testing laboratory. Remington also chaired the committee overseeing the first Spanish translation of the USP from 190517.
