United States Pharmacopeia Statement on Executive Order on a Sustainable Public Health Supply Chain:
“We applaud the Biden administration for their swift executive actions to ensure a robust, transparent, effective and safe medical supply chain, particularly when it comes to delivering COVID-19 vaccines and treatments. For years, the scientific experts at USP have been working to address vulnerabilities in the global supply chain (including medicine ingredients and raw materials upstream), support the expansion of manufacturing capabilities both in the United States and abroad through efforts such as advanced manufacturing technologies, and increase global cooperation in response to major threats to public health. We look forward to working with the new administration on this vital issue. It is more urgent now than ever.”
