Michael Purcell serves as Vice President of Strategic Marketing and Program Operations for Chemical Medicines at USP. In this role, he is responsible for leading the development and execution of strategy and marketing programs for all of USP’s global Chemical Medicines offerings.
Prior to joining USP, Mr. Purcell was Vice President of Strategy and Corporate Development with J M Smith Corporation, a leading health technology and pharmaceutical provider, where he also held leadership roles in enterprise risk management and pharmacy software product operations.
Earlier in his career, he progressed through increasing operational and global leadership roles with DuPont, Milliken & Company, General Electric, and Danaher Corporation. His experience encompasses strategy development and implementation, marketing operations, product lifecycle management, technology commercialization, and mergers & acquisitions.
Purcell holds a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from Purdue University and a MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business with concentrations in Strategic Management and Finance.
