Mary Backstrom is Vice President, Strategic Marketing and Program Operations for USP Biologics. In this role, she is responsible for leading the continued development and implementation of USP’s Global Strategy in the Biologics space.
Before joining USP, Backstrom was the Vice President of Marketing Strategy & Insights with Parexel International in Waltham, Mass., where she drove commercial success via the launch of innovative growth strategies and development of high impact research & analytics programs and for this biopharmaceutical services company. Her previous experience includes consulting in the life sciences industry, as well as serving in a number of global leadership roles at ConvaTec, a medical device company with sales in more than 90 countries.
Backstrom earned an M.S. degree in Social Psychology from Rutgers University and an MBA from Cornell University.
