John Hu, Ph.D., is Acting Senior Vice President, USP China for the United States Pharmacopeia (USP). He is currently the general manager of USP–China in charge of site operations and business development, serving customers in mainland China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Singapore.
Dr. Hu has more than 18 years of experience in pharmaceutical research and development and relevant management practices. Prior to joining USP, Dr. Hu worked in several major multinational pharmaceutical companies in the United States in the areas of drug analysis, formulation development, discovery support, R&D outsourcing, and clinical project management.
Dr. Hu is actively involved in professional and community activities and is the former president of Sino American Pharmaceutical Association (SAPA), a non-profit association promoting pharmaceutical science and business exchanges between China and the United States. Dr. Hu is on the advisory Board of Drug Information Association-China and the editorial board of the Chinese Pharmaceutical Journal. He is also an adjunct professor at IPSE program of Beijing University.
Dr. Hu has a B.S. degree from Zhongshan University and Ph.D. degree from Penn State University.
