Reason for Revision: Compliance
In accordance with the Rules and Procedures of the 2010–2015 Council of Experts, the Monographs—Biologics and Biotechnology 1 Expert Committee has revised the Insulin monograph. The purpose for the revision is to specify use of USP Insulin Beef RS and USP Insulin Pork RS in lieu of USP Insulin RS. The USP Insulin RS, a mixture of beef insulin and pork insulin, is no longer available and has been discontinued in the USP catalog.
The Insulin Revision Bulletin supersedes the currently official monograph. The Revision Bulletin will be incorporated in the Second Supplement to USP 36–NF 31.
