In accordance with the Rules and Procedures of the 2010–2015 Council of Experts, the Monographs—Small Molecules 1 Expert Committee has revised the Cefdinir monograph. The purpose for the revision is to accommodate the sponsor’s FDA-approved acceptance criteria for Water Determination as follows:

  • Widen the range from 4.0–8.0% to 4.0–8.5%
  • Indicate that it applies to all hydrated forms of Cefdinir

The Cefdinir Revision Bulletin supersedes the currently official monograph. The Revision Bulletin will be incorporated in the Second Supplement to USP 34–NF 29.
