Reason for Revision: Compliance
In accordance with the Rules and Procedures of the 2010–2015 Council of Experts, the Monographs—Small Molecules 1 Expert Committee has revised the Tazobactam monograph. The purpose of the revision is to include a different polymorphic form of the drug substance, the hemihydrate form, and to revise the test for Water Determination by adding a limit of "2.2–3.8%" that applies to the hemihydrate form. The Chemical information section is also revised, to incorporate the hemihydrate form.
The Tazobactam Revision Bulletin supersedes the currently official monograph. The Revision Bulletin will be incorporated in USP 35–NF 30.
