Susan de Mars is Executive Vice President and Chief Legal Officer for USP and serves as Secretary to the USP Board of Trustees and the USP Convention. She is responsible for legal and governance issues affecting USP, and also provides oversight for USP’s global compliance and ethics and quality assurance departments.
Prior to joining USP, Ms. de Mars held various management and legal positions in the pharmacy benefit management (PBM) industry, including serving as general counsel and head of government affairs for AdvancePCS and PCS Health Systems. She was also a partner at the law firms of Reed Smith LLP in Washington D.C. and Sacks, Tierney, P.A., in Phoenix, Arizona, practicing in the areas of corporate law, partnerships and joint ventures, health care regulatory issues and transactions, and other health care matters.
Ms. de Mars is a graduate of Harvard Law School and Claremont McKenna College.
