USP Stakeholder Forums and Project TeamsUSP Stakeholder ForumsUSP's Stakeholder Forums provide opportunities for interactions between USP and its constituent stakeholders, including pharmaceutical manufacturers, compounding professionals, patient safety professionals and others. Although the scope and format of each Stakeholder Forum differs, the Forums enable USP to understand stakeholder perspectives while offering stakeholders the opportunity to contribute, through advice and recommendations, to resolution of USP's scientific and process topics. Participation USP Stakeholder Forums is by invitation only and at the request of USP. Unlike the USP Council of Experts, Stakeholder Forum and Project Team members serve as representatives of a particular interest/group/company and can add their organizational perspectives to the discussion. Stakeholder Forum and Project Team deliberations are advisory and are not binding to the Council of Experts, its Expert Committees, or staff. USP Project TeamsIn accordance with the Bylaws of the USP Convention, and the Rules and Procedures of the 2005-2010 Council of Experts, eight Project Teams were formed. The purpose of a Project Team is to enable stakeholders with a specific technical or scientific expertise to provide information, perspectives, advice, and assistance to the Council of Experts, its Expert Committees, and USP staff on a particular topic or set of topics. The ultimate goal is to improve US standards and information. Project Teams function under the oversight of the Stakeholder Forums and generally are advisory to a particular Expert Committee. Please refer to the links below to access notes from USP Project Team meetings. The following USP Project Teams are sponsored by the Prescription/Non-Prescription Stakeholder Forum:
