
Susan Bach joined USP in 2011. In her role as Vice President, Human Resources, she is responsible for developing and executing HR strategy for USP and leading a team focused on talent acquisition and management, training and leadership development, change management, and effective compensation and benefits programs.
Ms. Bach draws on more than 30 years of human resources expertise, which she accrued primarily in the life sciences industry at companies such as Sucampo Pharmaceuticals, Invitrogen Corporation, Adolor Corporation, and SmithKline Beecham (now GlaxoSmithKline). As Vice President, Human Resources for Sucampo Pharmaceuticals, she championed strong compensation and benefits programs, people development initiatives, recruitment and selection processes and aligning systems and services with the business and strategy needs. Prior to Sucampo, Ms. Bach served in managerial and directorial human resources roles at Invitrogen Corporation where she championed corporate initiatives including performance management, leadership development process, and succession planning. She began her career focusing on employee and labor relations within the federal government.
Ms. Bach earned an M.S. in organization development and strategic human resources from the Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore, MD, and a B.A. in sociology from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County. In addition, she has numerous certifications in employee and managerial development and training.
