Before browsing the Web site listings or downloading a PDF catalog of Reference Standards, learn how to read the listings and what the various columns mean.

Find a Reference Standard

Choose one of the following options:

• Look through listings organized alphabetically
• Use the global site search function at the top right-hand of any page. Type in the description or USP catalog number of the Reference Standard you are looking for.
• Use the "Advanced Products Search" function. This search is exclusive to the Products section of the site. Type in the description or catalog number of the Reference Standard you are looking for.

This Web site-only catalog, which is updated daily, lists all USP Reference Standards with current lots, previous lots with valid use dates, and prices.

USP Catalog

This catalog—available in print or through this Web site—lists all USP Reference Standards with current lots, previous lots with valid use dates, purity values, CAS numbers, and prices. The catalog includes information, in multiple languages, on USP publications, education courses, and how to use and order Reference Standards.

Technical data sheets

USP provides Material Safety Data Sheets for all Reference Standards. Additional lot-specific data sheets (dissolution calibrator ranges, USP Certificates, typical chromatograms, etc.), when specifically required, are shipped with Reference Standards orders. All Material Safety Data Sheets and some additional data sheets are also available through this Web site. To access available data sheets for a specific Reference Standard, bring up a listing of the Reference Standard from the Web site listings and click on the product description.

Dissolution calibrator ranges

USP does not provide Certificates of Analysis as all information for official uses of a Reference Standard is on the label of the standard and where needed, in the additional data sheets shipped with the standard.
