A MESSAGE FROM
USP CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER ROGER L. WILLIAMS
Dear Colleagues,
During the decade that I have been CEO of USP, you have heard me speak often about the value and importance of USP quality standards to public health. The need for quality public standards was the reason USP was created, and quality standards may be even more important now than they were in 1820. As delegates and member organizations, you are an integral part of USP. You honor the vital role our quality standards play through your ongoing support of our mission and participation in our governance. I sincerely thank you for your commitment.
My message today is to announce a special campaign we have developed for you and for others who support USP's mission to explain in interesting ways the role that standards play in helping to ensure the quality of the medicines we use, the dietary supplements we consume, and the foods we eat. I invite you to visit USP's Quality Standards website and to explore the videos and other content to learn more about the role of public standards and of USP. We have worked to advance public health for almost two centuries, and we continue to evolve to meet the needs of patients, consumers, manufacturers, and practitioners today and into the future. You are essential to that task and I encourage you to help us spread the word.
