September 14 – 15, 2009
USP Meetings Center
Rockville, Maryland
Overview
You need to attend USP's Topical and Transdermal Workshop if you are interested in:
Topical or dermal products
The extent of testing to be included in a monograph
In vitro product performance tests
The establishment of a performance verification test (PVT) and the appropriateness of hydrocortisone cream as a PVT reference standard for equipment used to evaluate these products
New draft USP General Chapter <3> Topical and Transdermal Products—Product Quality Tests, and General Chapter <725> Topical and Transdermal Products—Product Performance Tests have been published in Pharmacopeial Forum (PF) 35(3) May-June 2009. These two General Chapters are part of a series of chapters that will cover product quality and performance tests for the five routes of administration. USP is seeking comments on the types and extent of testing to be included in a monograph and in vitro product performance tests, as well as the establishment of a performance verification test (PVT), and the appropriateness of hydrocortisone cream as a PVT reference standard for equipment used to evaluate these products.
This interactive workshop will provide stakeholders interested in topical or dermal products the opportunity to comment on and help shape the direction of these new chapters.
