Quality Assurance of Medical Products

USP promotes and supports end-to-end quality assurance across health systems in partnership with the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), national regulatory authorities, the World Health Organization (WHO), the Global Fund for AIDS, Tuberculosis, and Malaria, the World Bank, the New Partnership for Africa’s Development (NEPAD), and the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC), among others.

USP’s technical assistance supports preventative measures to protect product quality; these services provide tailored solutions that affect manufacturing, procurement, and distribution. USP also executes quality assurance and control activities, through post market surveillance, to help ensure that products already in the market are of good quality, and takes measures to assist countries in removing substandard products when discovered.
