In accordance with the Rules and Procedures of the 2015-2020 Council of Experts, the Food Ingredients Expert Committee has revised Appendix XVI:  Protein-Based Ingredients: Nonprotein Nitrogen Determination for Skim Milk Powder and Nonfat Dry Milk. The purpose for the revision is to remove the use of USP Skim Milk Powder with Melamine—Level D RS from the System suitability solution and System suitability requirements of Method I.

The Appendix XVI:  Protein-Based Ingredients: Nonprotein Nitrogen Determination for Skim Milk Powder and Nonfat Dry Milk Immediate Revision supersedes the currently effective Appendix XVI:  Protein-Based Ingredients:  Nonprotein Nitrogen Determination for Skim Milk Powder and Nonfat Dry Milk section.  This Immediate Revision will be incorporated in the First Supplement to Food Chemicals Codex 10.
