This presentation from the USP Excipient Stakeholder Forum covers USP quality standards in the law, leading to a discussion on atypical actives from a USP compendial perspective. Two case studies are presented, showing updates to monographs that came about because of excipient use as active ingredients. Finally, challenges and opportunities in atypical actives are summarized.
