Dr. Malawer looks at functional use categories and general guidance provided in the USP 32--NF 27. He discusses the types of compendial specifications related to the measurement of impurities as one of the steps in ensuring excipient identity, quality and purity. Finally, he briefly discusses key elements of the Food Chemical Codex Preface and General Information sections.
