Providing Technical Leadership & Global Advocacy
PQM uses a variety of methods to raise awareness about the potential dangers of using substandard or counterfeit medicines, each tailored to best reach the individual audience.
- Policymakers—Raise awareness of the central role medicine quality assurance (QA) plays in increasing access to better healthcare through the provision of safe and effective medicines
- Health professionals—Create and disseminate videos, trade bulletins, journal articles, and conference exhibits alerting healthcare workers to the importance of quality medicines in effective treatment
- General public—Employ public service announcements (PSAs) translated into local languages, community outreach events, posters, and other media to reach local audiences
PQM collaborates with country health authorities, USAID country missions, nongovernmental organizations, pharmacy and health professional organizations, television broadcasting networks, and media companies to advance the need for quality assurance in medicines.
