Disability InsuranceLong-Term Disability (LTD) InsuranceLong Term Disability insurance (LTD) offers a monthly benefit for disability due to injury or illness. After a 90 day waiting period, LTD pays 60% of the employee's base monthly earnings, up to a maximum monthly benefit of $10,900. USP pays the entire cost of the coverage. Short-Term Disability InsuranceThe STD plan, with American United Life, provides for partial salary continuance for an injury or illness. There are three plan options: Plan 1: Benefits begin on the 15th day of disability and are payable for a maximum of 11 weeks at 60% of gross weekly earnings. Plan 2: Benefits begin on the 30th day of disability and are payable for a maximum of 9 weeks at 60% of gross weekly earnings. Plan 3: Benefits begin on the 15th day of disability and are payable for a maximum of 11 weeks at 50% of gross weekly earnings. |
