Samir Wahab

Dr. Samir Wahab is Vice President, Global Reference Standards Laboratory, for USP. He is responsible for conducting collaborative laboratory testing related to USP Reference Standards development in the Reference Standards Laboratory (RSL) Rockville lab as well as other RSL activities, including Early Procedural Evaluation (EPE) testing, Continued Suitability for Use (CSU) testing, and the reference material stability program.

Dr. Wahab joined USP in 1999 as a Senior Group Leader in the Reference Standards Laboratory, and was promoted to Director, RSL in 2000. He was Director of the Analytical Research and Development Laboratory and then the Separations Laboratory from 2004 to 2012, and was promoted to Senior Director, R&D in 2012. Prior to his work at USP, he was a Senior Scientist at Wyeth Consumer Healthcare (currently Pfizer), Research Scientist at Philip Morris USA, and Research Assistant Professor at the Medical College of Virginia. 

Dr. Wahab received a B.Sc. from Basrah University in Iraq and holds Ph.D. and M.S. degrees in chemistry from Georgetown University in Washington, DC.
