Global Presence

From operations to services offered, everything we do at USP aims to fulfill a global mission: "to improve the health of people around the world through public standards and related programs that help ensure the quality, safety, and benefit of medicines and foods."

USP has five international sites—U.S., India, China, Brazil and Europe—from which we collaborate with manufacturers, governments, healthcare providers, and many others from around the world. Harmonization, the USP Medicines Compendium, Promoting the Quality of Medicines, the Technical Assistance Program, and our exchange programs are examples of our globally-focused work.

USP's progress is a collaborative worldwide effort. Our Convention membership is comprised of representatives from organizations from more than 20 different countries, and our standards-setting activities are guided by more than 850 scientific experts from more than 30 countries who volunteer their time to serve on our Council of Experts, Expert Committees, and Expert Panels. Our staff—a talented and diverse group of more than 750 professionals from all regions of the world—supports all USP activities.
