Revision Bulletin: Postponement

General Chapter <1> Injections Labeling on Ferrules and Cap Overseals Section

In accordance with section 9.08(c) of the Rules and Procedures of the Council of Experts, the Nomenclature Expert Committee has indefinitely postponed the "Labeling on Ferrules and Cap Overseals" section of General Chapter <1> Injections. This standard, presented in USP 32–NF 27, was previously postponed on August 22, 2008 to May 1, 2010. This further postponement is the result of the Nomenclature Expert Committee's desire to revise the standard, as reflected in the related Intent to Revise Statement.

As the Intent to Revise Statement indicates, USP plans to issue an "In-Process Revision" proposal in Pharmacopeial Forum 36(1) (January–February 2010) for public comment. This proposal will be pre-posted on the USP website to enable stakeholders additional time for submitting comments. The Nomenclature Expert Committee requests commenters to provide data to support their comments. The comment deadline will be April 15, 2010.
